Activities

A group of children learn how to make paper briquettes, an alternative source of fuel for cooking.

A day spent at the farm is a time to reconnect with nature.  The visit starts at the halt of Wynne Farm, Kenscoff 97 #5A. This is the point of gathering and of departure for the hike to the farm which takes forty five minutes. There, visitors may choose to remain or hike to the reserve.  All tours start with a talk on our planet earth, its biosphere and biodiversity, the global and local problems of pollution, deforestation, erosion and the necessity for protecting the earth for future generations.

In order to develop a better relationship with the environment, we offer eco-friendly activities such as recycling of paper for crafts, making cards with dried flowers, making crafts using bamboo, making briquettes for cooking, composting, demonstrating solar cooking, gardening and a nature hike to the reserve. Other activities are provided depending on the interest of the visitors. These activities are offered to children and adult groups, teachers and farmers.

note*

Teachers - Teachers are offered group visits with a more educational approach. As a teaching tool they are encouraged to create a terrarium which represents the planet earth. (Wynne Farm has been using the same terrarium for 18 years.)

Farmers – Farmers are provided with different workshops preceded by a condensed version of regular group visits. Several gardening practices are offered such as soil conservation methods, composting and plant propagation.
